Why Every Small Business Needs a Website

A professional website gives your business credibility, visibility, and control. Unlike social media, a website belongs entirely to you — it doesn’t rely on algorithms or changing platform rules. A well-built website helps customers find your location, hours, services, and pricing without digging around. It also improves your Google search ranking, which means more people in your local area discover your business naturally. For many customers, your website is the first impression they get of your brand, so having a clean and modern site instantly builds trust.

Why a Facebook Page Is Not a Website

A Facebook page is great for updates, photos, and engagement — but it is not a replacement for a website. Facebook controls your page layout, limits how people find you, and frequently changes what your followers see. If someone doesn’t have a Facebook account, they may not be able to view your content at all. Your business also competes with ads, distractions, and other pages on the platform. A website gives you a dedicated space that is fast, clean, and built entirely around your brand. Facebook is a tool; your website is your home base.

Comparing Hosting Options

Hosting Included: I design and build your website to fit your business. You’ll purchase and own your domain name, and I’ll host your site securely through Bluehost. After the one-time build cost, there’s a small $3–$5 monthly fee that covers server space, security, and ongoing maintenance to keep your site running smoothly.

Hosting Not Included:If you prefer, I can help you set up your own hosting account instead. In that case, you won’t pay a monthly fee to me, but you would be responsible for hosting costs directly through your provider— which often total more per month than my $3–$5 hosting and maintenance fee. Ongoing updates, security, and support after the initial build would also be your responsibility.
